I stand opposed to new taxes. I am the only candidate for Mayor who has consistently opposed new taxes.

I’ve long said, “Government doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem.”

Good leaders choose between priorities so that higher taxes don’t force working families to choose between their own family priorities.

I strongly oppose new sales taxes.

I strongly oppose a vehicle mileage tax.

I strongly oppose new gas taxes.

All of these taxes have one thing in common: They are regressive and punish working families the hardest. By taxing necessities, like the goods we purchase, the miles we need to drive to get to work, and gasoline, we are taxing lower income families the hardest.
